Sukadev Bhattiprolu a6f37daa8b Simplify devpts_pty_kill
When creating a new pty, save the pty's inode in the tty->driver_data.
Use this inode in pty_kill() to identify the devpts instance. Since
we now have the inode for the pty, we can skip get_node() lookup and
remove the unused get_node().

TODO:
	- check if the mutex_lock is needed in pty_kill().

Sukadev Bhattiprolu 15f1a6338d Add an instance parameter devpts interfaces
Pass-in 'inode' or 'tty' parameter to devpts interfaces. With multiple
devpts instances, these parameters will be used in subsequent patches
to identify the instance of devpts mounted. The parameters also help
simplify devpts implementation.

Changelog[v3]:
	- minor changes due to merge with ttydev updates
	- rename parameters to emphasize they are ptmx or pts inodes
	- pass-in tty_struct * to devpts_pty_kill() (this will help
	  cleanup the get_node() call in a subsequent patch)

Sukadev Bhattiprolu 4a2b5fddd5 Move tty lookup/reopen to caller
Move tty_driver_lookup_tty() and tty_reopen() from tty_init_dev()
into tty_open() (one of the two callers of tty_init_dev()). These
calls are not really required in ptmx_open(), the other caller,
since ptmx_open() would be setting up a new tty.

Changelog[v2]:
	- remove the lookup and reopen calls from ptmx_open
	- merge with recent changes to ttydev tree

Sukadev Bhattiprolu 4c3f2ead5a pid namespaces: introduce struct upid
Since task will be visible from different pid namespaces each of them have to
be addressed by multiple pids. struct upid is to store the information about
which id refers to which namespace.

The constuciton looks like this. Each struct pid carried the reference
counter and the list of tasks attached to this pid. At its end it has a
variable length array of struct upid-s. Each struct upid has a numerical id
(pid itself), pointer to the namespace, this ID is valid in and is hashed into
a pid_hash for searching the pids.

The nr and pid_chain fields are kept in struct pid for a while to make kernel
still work (no patch initialize the upids yet), but it will be removed at the
end of this series when we switch to upids completely.

Sukadev Bhattiprolu 2894d650cd pid namespaces: define and use task_active_pid_ns() wrapper
With multiple pid namespaces, a process is known by some pid_t in every
ancestor pid namespace. Every time the process forks, the child process also
gets a pid_t in every ancestor pid namespace.

While a process is visible in >=1 pid namespaces, it can see pid_t's in only
one pid namespace. We call this pid namespace it's "active pid namespace",
and it is always the youngest pid namespace in which the process is known.

This patch defines and uses a wrapper to find the active pid namespace of a
process. The implementation of the wrapper will be changed in when support
for multiple pid namespaces are added.

Changelog:
	2.6.22-rc4-mm2-pidns1:
	- [Pavel Emelianov, Alexey Dobriyan] Back out the change to use
	  task_active_pid_ns() in child_reaper() since task->nsproxy
	  can be NULL during task exit (so child_reaper() continues to
	  use init_pid_ns).

	  to implement child_reaper() since init_pid_ns.child_reaper to
	  implement child_reaper() since tsk->nsproxy can be NULL during exit.

	2.6.21-rc6-mm1:
	- Rename task_pid_ns() to task_active_pid_ns() to reflect that a
	  process can have multiple pid namespaces.

Sukadev Bhattiprolu f400e198b2 [PATCH] pidspace: is_init()
This is an updated version of Eric Biederman's is_init() patch.
(http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/2/6/280). It applies cleanly to 2.6.18-rc3 and
replaces a few more instances of ->pid == 1 with is_init().

Further, is_init() checks pid and thus removes dependency on Eric's other
patches for now.

Eric's original description:

	There are a lot of places in the kernel where we test for init
	because we give it special properties. Most significantly init
	must not die. This results in code all over the kernel test
	->pid == 1.

	Introduce is_init to capture this case.

	With multiple pid spaces for all of the cases affected we are
	looking for only the first process on the system, not some other
	process that has pid == 1.

Sukadev Bhattiprolu 3b4c7d6403 [PATCH] kthread: airo.c
The airo driver is currently caching a pid for later use, but with the
implementation of containers, pids themselves do not uniquely identify a
task. The driver is also using kernel_thread() which is deprecated in
drivers.

This patch essentially replaces the kernel_thread() with kthread_create().
It also stores the task_struct of the airo_thread rather than its pid.
Since this introduces a second task_struct in struct airo_info, the patch
renames airo_info.task to airo_info.list_bss_task.

As an extension of these changes, the patch further:

	 - replaces kill_proc() with kthread_stop()
	 - replaces signal_pending() with kthread_should_stop()
	 - removes thread completion synchronisation which is handled by
	   kthread_stop().
