Commit 88ffbf3e03 switches to using rhashtables for glocks, hashing over
the entire struct lm_lockname instead of its individual fields. On some
architectures, struct lm_lockname contains a hole of uninitialized
memory due to alignment rules, which now leads to incorrect hash values.
Get rid of that hole.

Convert isec->lock from a mutex into a spinlock. Instead of holding

The IOP_XATTR flag is set on sockfs because sockfs supports getting the
"system.sockprotoname" xattr. Since commit 6c6ef9f2, this flag is checked for
setxattr support as well. This is wrong on sockfs because security xattr
support there is supposed to be provided by security_inode_setsecurity. The
smack security module relies on socket labels (xattrs).
Fix this by adding a security xattr handler on sockfs that returns
-EAGAIN, and by checking for -EAGAIN in setxattr.
We cannot simply check for -EOPNOTSUPP in setxattr because there are
filesystems that neither have direct security xattr support nor support
via security_inode_setsecurity. A more proper fix might be to move the
call to security_inode_setsecurity into sockfs, but it's not clear to me

that as well.

filesystems that don't support xattrs, the xattr inode operations are
all NULL, and sb->s_xattr is also NULL.
This means that we can remove the getxattr, setxattr, and removexattr

inline expand those handlers into fs/xattr.c.
Filesystems that do not support xattrs on some inodes should clear the

However, instantiating a new inode may block on freeing a previous

requires to take the glock already held, leading to lock inversion and
deadlock.
Fix this by first instantiating the new inode, then verifying that the
block is an inode (if required), and then reading in the new inode, all
in gfs2_inode_lookup.
If the block we are looking for is not an inode, we discard the new
inode via iget_failed, which marks inodes as bad and unhashes them.

When get_acl() is called for an inode whose ACL is not cached yet, the
get_acl inode operation is called to fetch the ACL from the filesystem.
The inode operation is responsible for updating the cached acl with
set_cached_acl(). This is done without locking at the VFS level, so
another task can call set_cached_acl() or forget_cached_acl() before the
get_acl inode operation gets to calling set_cached_acl(), and then
get_acl's call to set_cached_acl() results in caching an outdate ACL.
Prevent this from happening by setting the cached ACL pointer to a
task-specific sentinel value before calling the get_acl inode operation.
Move the responsibility for updating the cached ACL from the get_acl
inode operations to get_acl(). There, only set the cached ACL if the
sentinel value hasn't changed.
The sentinel values are chosen to have odd values. Likewise, the value
of ACL_NOT_CACHED is odd. In contrast, ACL object pointers always have
an even value (ACLs are aligned in memory). This allows to distinguish
uncached ACLs values from ACL objects.
In addition, switch from guarding inode->i_acl and inode->i_default_acl
upates by the inode->i_lock spinlock to using xchg() and cmpxchg().
Filesystems that do not want ACLs returned from their get_acl inode
operations to be cached must call forget_cached_acl() to prevent the VFS
from doing so.

To reduce amount of damage caused by single bad block, we limit number
of inodes sharing an xattr block to 1024. Thus there can be more xattr
blocks with the same contents when there are lots of files with the same

collisions and can form long hash chains and we unnecessarily check each
such block only to find out we cannot use it because it is already
shared by too many inodes.
Add a reusable flag to cache entries which is cleared when a cache entry
has reached its maximum refcount. Cache entries which are not marked
reusable are skipped by mb_cache_entry_find_{first,next}. This
significantly speeds up mbcache when there are many same xattr blocks.

to the callers.
Since the result only depends on the dentry and not on the attribute
name, we do not pass the attribute name to list operations.

Now that the xattr handler is passed to the xattr handler operations, we
can use the same get and set operations for the user, trusted, and security
xattr namespaces. In those namespaces, we can access the full attribute
name by "reattaching" the name prefix the vfs has skipped for us. Add a
xattr_full_name helper to make this obvious in the code.
For the "system.posix_acl_access" and "system.posix_acl_default"

The xattr_handler operations are currently all passed a file system
specific flags value which the operations can use to disambiguate between
different handlers; some file systems use that to distinguish the xattr
namespace, for example. In some oprations, it would be useful to also have
access to the handler prefix. To allow that, pass a pointer to the handler

When a filesystem that contains POSIX ACLs is mounted without ACL support
(-o noacl), the appropriate behavior is not to list any existing POSIX ACL
xattrs. The return value for list xattr handlers in this case is 0, not an
