The hs_ctr variable can just be int instead of long, so also change
kstrtol() to kstrtoint() and leave the format string as %d.
Also add 2 header files since they are used in mtm.c and we prefer

Attempt to make cryptic TCP seq number error messages clearer by
(1) identifying the source of the message as "TCP", (2) identifying the
errors as "seq # bug", and (3) grouping the field identifiers and values
by separating them with commas.

Removed Kbuild documentation for INSTALL_FW_PATH.
The kbuild symbol INSTALL_FW_PATH was removed from Kbuild tools in
September 2017 (for 4.14) but the symbol was not deleted from

The supported alias for building sparc 32-bit is "sparc32",
not "sparc", so update the alias documentation for that.
Just using "sparc" produces a 64-bit config file.

<linux/skbuff.h> is currently #included in around 1200 C source and
header files, making it the 31st most-used header file.

This change makes xconfig present the PANEL drivers immediately
following the AUXDISPLAY drivers instead of under the major menu
item "Device Drivers". It also unclutters the Device Drivers menu in
nconfig and menuconfig by moving the PANEL drivers to a sub-menu.

Having the CHARLCD Kconfig symbol between "menuconfig AUXDISPLAY"
and "if AUXDISPLAY" breaks the AUXDISPLAY submenus, so move the
CHARLCD Kconfig symbol near the end of the file so that the menu
display is continuous.
Also include ARM_CHARLCD inside of the if AUXDISPLAY/endif block.
Geert says that it should be there.

Currently <linux/slab.h> #includes <linux/kmemleak.h> for no obvious
reason. It looks like it's only a convenience, so remove kmemleak.h
from slab.h and add <linux/kmemleak.h> to any users of kmemleak_* that
don't already #include it. Also remove <linux/kmemleak.h> from source
files that do not use it.
This is tested on i386 allmodconfig and x86_64 allmodconfig. It would
be good to run it through the 0day bot for other $ARCHes. I have
neither the horsepower nor the storage space for the other $ARCHes.
Update: This patch has been extensively build-tested by both the 0day
bot & kisskb/ozlabs build farms. Both of them reported 2 build failures
for which patches are included here (in v2).
[ slab.h is the second most used header file after module.h; kernel.h is
right there with slab.h. There could be some minor error in the
counting due to some #includes having comments after them and I didn't
combine all of those. ]

Make a "HW tracing support" menu and move 2 entries into it.
(No change in Coresight, which is ARM-specific and is only listed for
ARM & ARM64.)
This makes the Device Drivers menu more consistent and prevents these
drivers from being listed at the top level of the Device Drivers menu.

Fix grammar and punctuation (end sentences with a period) in the
Kconfig help text for ACPI_PROCFS_POWER.
I was looking at this since it appears to be going away (again,
some day) and I have a working script that uses this info to tell me
battery usage. I can update the script to use /sys/class/power_supply
(in theory) but the contents (with units) should be documented in
Documentation/ABI/ before /proc/acpi/battery/ is removed (IMO).

Lots of the wireless driver vendor Kconfig symol help text says
"questions about cards." (2 spaces between "about" and "cards")
Besides dropping one of those spaces, it also needs some other word
inserted there. Instead of putting each vendor's name there, I chose
to say "these" cards in all of the Kconfig help text.

Apparently the LaTex abbreviation for the German "sharp s" (ß)
(Unicode U+00DF) has changed from {\sz} to {\ss}. With {\sz},
I get this error at line 1016 (line number after another patch):

<linux/mutex.h> does not use nor need <linux/linkage.h>, so drop that
one header file from mutex.h.
<linux/mutex.h> is currently #included in around 1250 C source files
(oops, I didn't count other header files that #include it), making it
the 27th most-used header file.
Build tested on i386 and x86_64 * (allnoconfig, tiny.config, defconfig,
allyesconfig, and allmodconfig) and x64_64 allmodconfig + SMP=disabled.

It seems that <linux/interrupt.h> does not need <linux/linkage.h>
nor <linux/preempt.h>. 8 kernels builds are successful without
these 2 headers (allmodconfig, allyesconfig, allnoconfig, and
tinyconfig on both i386 and x86_64).
<linux/interrupt.h> is #included 3875 times in 4.16-rc1, so this
reduces #include processing of these 2 files by a total of 7750 times.
Since I only tested x86 builds, this needs to be tested on other
$ARCHes as well.

Fix some basic kernel-doc notation in mm/swap.c:
- for function lru_cache_add_anon(), make its kernel-doc function name
match its function name and change colon to hyphen following the
function name
- for function pagevec_lookup_entries(), change the function parameter
name from nr_pages to nr_entries since that is more descriptive of
what the parameter actually is and then it matches the kernel-doc

Drivers should not 'select' a subsystem. Instead they should depend
on it. If the subsystem is disabled, the user probably did that for
a purpose and one driver shouldn't be changing that.
This also makes all IIO drivers consistent w.r.t depending on SYSFS
instead of selecting it.

The "bl" (list breakpoints) command prints a '\t' (tab) character
in its output, but on a console (video device), that just prints
some odd graphics character. Instead of printing a tab character,
just align the output with spaces.

When an unknown command is entered, kdb prints "Unknown kdb command:"
and then the unknown text, including the newline character. This
causes the ending single-quote mark to be printed on the next line
by itself, so just change the ending newline character to a null
character (end of string) so that it won't be "printed."

Clean up the EXPERT menu (yet again).
Move FHANDLE and CHECKPOINT_RESTORE into the primary EXPERT menu since
they already depend on EXPERT.
Move BPF_SYSCALL and USERFAULTFD out of the EXPERT Kconfig symbols menu
list since they do not depend on EXPERT and were breaking the continuity
of that menu list.
Move all of the KALLSYMS Kconfig symbols to the end of the EXPERT menu.
This separates the kernel services from the build options.
This patch depends on [PATCH] pci: move PCI_QUIRKS to the PCI bus menu
(https://lkml.org/lkml/2017/11/2/907).

Partially revert commit 2fa3656829 ("kbuild: soften MODULE_LICENSE
check") so that modpost detects modules that do not have a
MODULE_LICENSE.
Sam's commit also changed the fatal error to a warning, which I am
leaving as is.
This gives advance notice of when a module has no license and will taint
the kernel if the module is loaded.
This produces the following warnings on x86_64 allmodconfig:

Update list of available compiled-in fonts in lib/fonts/:

Localize PCI_QUIRKS in the PCI bus menu.
Move PCI_QUIRKS to the PCI bus menu instead of the (often broken) General
Setup EXPERT menu. The prompt still depends on EXPERT.

a '*' to prevent this error and to indicate that there are several of
these values to choose from.

There are some good comments about bitmap operations in lib/bitmap.c
and include/linux/bitmap.h, so format them for document generation and
pull them into core-api/kernel-api.rst.
I converted the "tables" of functions from using tabs to using spaces
so that they are more readable in the source file and in the generated
output.
