With the removal of ARCH_NR_GPIOS in commit7b61212f2a("gpiolib: Get rid of ARCH_NR_GPIOS") the gpiolib core no longer sanitizes the number of GPIOs for us. This causes the gpio-sim selftests to now fail when setting the number of GPIOs to 99999 and expecting the probe() to fail. Set a sane limit of 1024 on the number of simulated GPIOs and bail out of probe if it's exceeded. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
